Indianapolis, also known as the “Circle City”, is the twelfth largest city in America. Downtown Indy is home to a varied array of neighborhoods; each with its own personality. Mass Ave., a major entertainment hub, is known as one of Indianapolis’ most treasured Art Districts is alive and vibrant every day, and night, of the week. Home to the Indianapolis Colts, the Indianapolis Pacers, the renowned Indianapolis Zoo, numerous museums and parks, and last but not least, home to the “greatest spectacle in racing” the Indianapolis 500. These major sporting and tourist events, along with Indianapolis’ major health care, finance, and education enterprises, have all contributed to building up the diverse Indianapolis economy.
The city comes alive for sporting events like Indianapolis Colts games at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indiana Pacers games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, and, of course, “the greatest spectacle in racing,” the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. These major sporting and tourist events, combined with Indianapolis major health care, finance, and education enterprises, have had a hand in building up Indianapolis’ diverse economy.
